SMSF Association Technical Conference
On Thursay the 30th of July, Mike and Frank attended the SMSF Association State Technical Conference where they had the pleasure of meeting the CEO of the SMSF Association (formally known as SPAA), Andrea Slattery. Since establishing the SMSF Association in 2003, Andrea has been one of the key reasons why the SMSF Association has seen so much success in such a short period of time. The importance of the SMSF Association pays a vital role in providing a voice to government which ensures the SMSF industry is protected from unnecessary bureaucracy and kept free of issues that may inhibit growth in the SMSF space.
A key announcement was made by the organisation that a new membership initiative is being rolled out which provides Accountants and Advisors working in the SMSF space to be recognised as SMSF Practitioners (SSP). This accreditation verifies the foundation SMSF knowledge that those providing SMSF advice should hold; it’s an industry benchmark, and provides a great pathway to specialist accreditation.
If you’re staff have a passion for SMSF advice, then SSP accreditation support is something to give serious consideration.
